They have lots of challenges living in this under-served community. We are thankful that we can be here to support & encourage them. Join us in praying for them & the rest of our #LearningPods students.
She stopped to ask for some information and we ended up praying & having a little praise break.
We served several kids twice today. #lunchbagtogo

The Learning Pods are helping students with online classes from 7:30am to 4:30pm.
They have access to internet, computers, headphones in a safe and quiet environment. Kids are getting breakfast lunch & a take home lunch bag. Its a lot of work as many of our students have fallen behind & the pandemic has complicated things, but we are committed to help see them succeed! #togetherwemakeadifference #lovethyneighbor #applestreetlearningcenter

Summer Camp week #2 is off to a great start!!
We celebrated our dear friend Ms Marion today
We celebrated our dear friend Ms Marion today. She lost her battle with cancer & went home to be with Jesus last week. If you’ve been to our Cajun Thanksgiving Outreach and tasted that delicious gumbo…she had a big big part in making it happen year after year. She was one of the first people we met after Hurricane Katrina. We were strangers to her, but almost immediately she gave us a key to her home. She welcomed us into the neighbourhood with open arms. She meant so much to us! We will miss you!
Back 2 School 2018
We had a fantastic day! As usual, families lined up long before the gates opened. The clouds started to roll in, but the rain didn’t. The temperature dropped to a lovely 87 degrees, the kids breezed in, and the fun started! Smiling faces were all we could see. The face-painting, balloon animals, hot dogs, nachos and sno-balls made this a celebration for the kids. The sno-ball and the nacho team had their hands full keeping up with the demands.
The highlight of the day was watching each one of the students get a bag and start down the supply line. Paper and notebooks first, crayons, markers and colored pencils, scissors and sharpeners… and on down the line they went, laughing and smiling. We loved loved loved seeing these children happy about school. We know It set the tone for their school year.
We have a lot of photos from the event on our Facebook profile. If you are not a friend of JesusProjectMin, please send a request so you can see the impact you are making.
We want to say thank you again for your kindness and your support!
Blessings,
Debra, Rachel and Sarah
