Vice-President & Co-Founder Internship Director / Summer Camp Director (5-8 yr olds) / Outreach Coordinator

Rachel De La Rosa

Born the ninth child of migrant farm workers, Rachel was raised in Southern California’s inner city. Engulfed by the struggles of racism, violence, substance abuse and all of the issues brought on by poverty, Rachel had every reason to be another statistic.  Instead, God in His mercy showed Rachel The Way out of a life of destruction brought on by poverty and addiction.  After a radical encounter with God, she received Jesus Christ as her Lord in 1995.

Rachel answered the call on her life to ministry in 2000 as she moved from Southern California to Pensacola, Florida to attend Brownsville Revival School of Ministry.  Upon graduating and receiving her subsequent ordination from F.I.R.E. School of Ministry (Fellowship for International Revival and Evangelism), Rachel’s heart was transformed as she heard God’s call to help the poor.

She has ministered internationally in Mexico, Cuba and Africa and spent years ministering to the homeless community of Atlanta, GA. In addition, she spent much of her time evangelizing and sharing the love of Jesus in the streets among the lost and hurting.

In 2005, God moved Rachel to New Orleans just days after Hurricane Katrina. She jumped in and spent years serving in many ways including coordinating thousands of volunteers who came to serve the city, serving the homeless and ministering to kids.  In 2008, God once again called her to the poor, this time in the inner city of New Orleans where Jesus Project Ministries was birthed. Rachel is the Co-founder of Jesus Project Ministries and serves as Vice President. JPM is always involved in building the community, so daily Rachel is always working.  The flow of children, families and volunteers requires her hands-on attention. From translating Spanish to English, tutoring children, welcoming and directing volunteers and coordinating community outreaches, each day is filled with challenges and opportunities.

Rachel’s heart is to see the Kingdom of God come to the poor & broken and to encourage the Body of Christ to be the hands and feet of Jesus on earth. Her vast knowledge, training and understanding of the streets is invaluable to the vision and mission of Jesus Project Ministries.
